The Greek Nature

Greece can offer exceptional location options exceeding the usual expectations. Indeed there are plenty of sandy beaches and white blue villages by the sea but Greece offers a variety of other locations to choose from. Athens is a very diverse city, offering modern apartments, stylish shops and popular cafés combining the classic with the contemporary. Outside the city, a range of unexpected landscapes : sand deserts, medieval castles and lunar settings provide inspiration for alternative shooting concepts.

Greece has the longest coastline in Europe and is the southernmost country in Europe. The mainland has rugged mountains, forests, and lakes, but the country is well known for the thousands of islands dotting the blue Aegean Sea to the east, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and the Ionian Sea to the west.

The country is divided into three geographical regions: the mainland, the islands, and Peloponnese, the peninsula south of the mainland.

The Greek landscape is conspicuous not only for its rugged beauty but also for its complexity and variety. Three elements dominate: the sea, the mountains, and the lowland. The Greek mainland is sharply indented; arms and inlets of the sea penetrate so deeply that only a small, wedge-shaped portion of the interior is more than 50 miles (80 km) from the coast. The rocky headlands and peninsulas extend outward to the sea where there are many island arcs and archipelagoes. The southernmost part of mainland Greece, the Peloponnese)peninsula, connects to the mainland only by the narrow isthmus at the head of the Gulf of Corinth.

Greece’s mountainous terrain covers some four-fifths of the country, much of which is deeply dissected. A series of mainland mountain chains running northwest-southeast enclose narrow parallel valleys and numerous small basins that once held lakes. With riverine plains and thin, discontinuous strips of coastal plain, these interior valleys and basins constitute the lowland.
